............ENGLISH EXAM
A knee is akin to the trunk of a tree,
...But it's not called a trunk;
..That's a name for the torso,
.whose analogy would really be to branches;
While the arm's and hand's is even more so
...is that a zero anaphora?
........HECK IF I KNOW -- THEY'RE'S 3NGLISH 4 YA!

HARRYHAUSEN ALERT!
Just saw this video last night. It's the killers' "bones", directed by Tim Burton(!) Anyway, the skeleton army from Jason and the Argonauts makes an appearance and influences everyone else in the video to shed their skin. I wish Burton had gone with puppets, but alas, the effects seem to be in cg. Still very nice.

This one is for all my long-suffering friends -- because you haven't suffered enough!
I was thinking about animation and i tried to quickly draw some storyboards, keeping in mind your silhouettes, line of action, funny drawings and all that jazz. i'd like to try this one again sometime soon.

And if i really wanted to run this motif into the ground right off the cricket bat, i might start off saying something like, "how's about some roasted sherry duck for Christmas, hon?" In the interests of not having to live the lie that i am indeed operating a grossly unconventional eating establishment, i should go ahead and state that the title is lifted from one of my favorite books, because i always wished that this place could exist outside of the author's fevered imagination. And now it does, kind of. But not at all really.
PS: The sketches above were copied from Frank Tashlin's "The Stupid Cupid" onto the first page of my new sketchbook!Labels: practice
